The Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC) is Kenya’s education system designed to nurture every learner’s potential by focusing on the acquisition of knowledge, skills, values, and attitudes. Introduced in 2017 to replace the 8-4-4 system, CBC promotes practical learning, creativity, critical thinking, and holistic development. It is structured into key levels from pre-primary through senior school, each tailored to meet developmental and academic needs.

The current levels are:

Pre-Primary (PP1-PP2)
Primary (Grade 1-6)
Junior School (Grade 7-9)
Senior School (Grade 10-12)
